再次请教英文中高程度妈妈:关係子句

最近因为在帮国三女儿複习 自己也上国外网站研究

独独这两题我做超久 结果答案都是all of the above

想再次听听英文棒的妈妈讲解 大家互相切磋

尤其是第一题为何第(3)选项亦可? 前面不用加逗点隔开吗?

    换个句子举例

    The cake I made is chocolate flavor (我做的蛋糕)

    The cake I made 这样就是跟 The students Professor Deacon taught 一样的用法,加逗号就有点奇怪了

    我是用习惯了知道这样就是对的,大概要听听其他文法厉害的妈妈解说了

  • 为什么要加逗点隔开?

    Professor Deacon thaughe是过去式的

    形容前面的"The students"

    如果隔开 文法就错了吧?

    这是我的想法 有错请指教

  • 据我了解因为Professor Deacon不是nonessential qualifier,所以前面不需加逗点。

    就像上一个妈妈说的,

    The cake I made这句

    他要强调的事他做的蛋糕(且是唯一个蛋糕)

    但如果他要强调蛋糕是巧克力口味的(且他可能同时做了其他蛋糕)

    如果以这样说法的话,不知道词意上有没有表达清楚呢!

    先说,10多年前老师教的

    也想看看其他妈妈的说法顺便在啃一下文法去=)

  • 我的想法如下:

    1The students __________ are expected to pass

    (1) who were taught by Professor Deacon

    (2) (that) taught by Professor Deacon --> that 省略

    (3) (that) Professor Deacon taught --> that 省略

    (4)All of the above

    The student 后面不加逗号,

    例如: The bird which color is red is standing on the top of tree

    that 是可省略的

    (1)的关係主词who 视为关係子句的主词

    (3)的关係主词whom 视为关係子句的受词,受词可以在关係子句中省略,意思不变

    所以原来句子是这样

    The students whom Professor Deacon taught are expected to pass

    至于版妈说有时会看到关係主词前有逗点,那是在who 视为关係子句的主词时候,但是语意就不同噜!看以下例子翻译解释

    The students who were taught by Professor Deacon

    are expected to pass

    那个Deacon教授教过的学生考试应该会过

    (这里强调只有Deacon教授教过的学生才会过)>>「限定用法」

    The students ,who were taught by Professor Deacon,

    are expected to pass

    这个学生, Deacon教授曾教过他 ,他考试应该会过

    (这个学生应该会过, Deacon教授是否教过不是重点)>>「补述用法」

    再举一个例子,关係子句的「限定用法」及「补述用法」:

    A 限定用法:My sister who is in England will come back tomorrow 姐姐不只一个

    B 补述用法:My sister, who is in England, will come back tomorrow 姐姐只有一个

    为何minute没加s 呢 ?

    因为6跟minute间也没有"-" 连字号啊?
